Remarketing is a marketing method that shows advertising again to people who have already visited a website or interacted with a company.
The aim is to bring back visitors who did not make an enquiry, complete a purchase or book an appointment.
How does remarketing work?
When someone visits a website they are recorded through cookies or tracking technology. Matching ads can then be shown to them on other websites, in social media or in Google.
Typical examples:
- a user looks at a product but does not buy
- afterwards they see ads for exactly that product on other sites
- or they later receive an ad with a discount or a reminder
Remarketing is usually run through Google Ads, Meta Ads or other advertising platforms.
Why remarketing matters
Many people do not buy or get in touch on their first visit. Remarketing helps you stay in mind and raises the chance of a conversion later.
For online shops, service businesses and local companies it can be very effective, because people who already showed interest are usually easier to convince than completely new visitors.
That can lift the conversion rate, revenue and the efficiency of your advertising.
