When Dr Benjamin Gehl came to us in spring 2025, his clinic had an extensive website with lots of guides. Articles on dark circles under the eyes, vitamin C infusions or removing piercing holes were widely read. But anyone searching for a treatment in Vienna or Innsbruck rarely found the clinic near the top. And 4 in 10 clicks came from Germany – from people who read the guides but are unlikely to travel to Vienna or Innsbruck for a treatment.
There were no dedicated treatment pages for either location. In June 2025, only one in four clicks from Google landed on a treatment page, and in July 2025 the website’s average position was 19.7 – only on the second page of Google.
On top of that, the clinic was flying blind. Nobody could see whether Google brought in appointments. We only set up Search Console and Google Analytics in mid-April 2025 – there is no data from before then. Since January 2026 we can see how often the booking page is viewed, since 13 April 2026 every click on the phone number and since 17 April 2026 every online booking.

Today the clinic has over 40 pages for individual treatments in Vienna and Innsbruck – from microneedling and Botox to breast lifts and tuberous breast correction. All of them run on a new template we built. Each page answers the questions patients ask before an appointment and leads to online booking.
The average position in Google improved from 19.7 in July 2025 to 11.2 in September 2026. Two in three clicks now come from Austria. The new Vienna and Innsbruck pages alone brought 992 clicks from Austria from July to September 2026 – ten times as many as in the same period of 2025. In September 2026, more than one in three clicks landed directly on a treatment page, and 73% of clicks came from people who were not searching for the clinic’s name.
And because everything is tracked, what matters is visible: from January to March 2026, the booking page was viewed from Google 75% more often on average than in May and June 2025. In September 2026, four in five online appointments came via Google search. From April to September 2026, three in four enquiries via the website – online appointments and calls – came from search. Dr Gehl is also recommended in ChatGPT and Google’s AI answers – between 8 July and 30 September 2026 he was mentioned 297 times.

Approach
Four steps to more revenue.
Clicks are only a step along the way. What counts for us are searches with booking intent – and the appointments themselves.

No numbers, no decisions. So in April 2025, the first thing we did was set up Google Search Console and Google Analytics. Tracking on the website runs via Google Tag Manager – so it can be extended cleanly at any time.
Since January 2026 we can see how often the booking page is viewed. Since 13 April 2026 we count every click on the phone number, and since 17 April 2026 every online booking – even when it is completed in the clinic’s online calendar, which runs on a separate site. Since November 2025 we can also see how many visitors come to the website via ChatGPT & co., and since June 2026 we measure how often ChatGPT and Google’s AI mention the clinic.
Since then it has been clear where patients come from: from April to September 2026, three in four enquiries via the website – online appointments and calls – came from search. And more people want an appointment: from January to March 2026, the booking page was viewed from Google 75% more often on average than in May and June 2025.
Then there were the Google Business Profiles for Vienna and Innsbruck: from October 2025 we optimised them specifically so the clinic is found when people search for a cosmetic surgeon nearby. Rich snippets with reviews and frequently asked questions make the treatment pages stand out in the search results.

Microneedling Vienna Laser eyelid lift Innsbruck
Found where people book.

Instead of general pages, every treatment gets its own page – exactly where people search: in Vienna and in Innsbruck. Between August 2025 and March 2026 this produced over 30 new pages, for example for Sculptra, non-surgical eyelid lifts, microneedling, Hylase, HarmonyCa, thread lifts and the CO2 laser.
Each page answers what patients want to know before an appointment: how does the treatment work, what does it cost, when will I see a result? And every page leads to booking. For “Microneedling Wien” the clinic now ranks at an average position of 3.5 in Austria, for “Endolift Wien” at 3.4 (July–September 2026).
One example is the page on non-surgical eyelid lifts in Vienna, now on our new template for treatment pages: since August 2025 it has brought in over 1,500 clicks, and for “Oberlidstraffung mit CO2-Laser” (upper eyelid lift with CO2 laser) it ranks at position 1.5 in Austria (July–September 2026). Innsbruck saw a similar trend: from July to September 2026, searches containing “Innsbruck” brought eight times as many clicks as a year earlier, and “CO2 Laser Innsbruck” rose from position 11.6 to 1.7.

Existing pages & new template

More clicks land directly on treatments.

In November 2025 we revised 17 existing treatment pages: we sharpened titles, headings and search terms and added new information from the clinic. Older guides followed in spring 2026.
In June 2026 we built a new template for all treatment pages, designed for desktop and mobile – before that, the pages looked completely different. With it, the pages on breast surgery went live too, from breast lifts and breast reductions to tuberous breast correction. Breast topics from the blog moved there, and in August 2026 the upper eyelid lift page was completely rewritten.
The result: in September 2026, more than one in three clicks from Google landed directly on a treatment page – in June 2025 it was one in four. For the searches “Bruststraffung” (breast lift) and “Brustvergrößerung” (breast augmentation), the clinic now ranks at an average position of 13 in Austria – a year earlier it was 54 (July–September in each case).

In medicine, trust counts – for Google too. Since early 2026 the clinic has been mentioned and linked on other reputable sites – on topics such as upper eyelid lifts and breast augmentation in Vienna and cosmetic surgery in Innsbruck.
AI assistants read exactly these kinds of sites. Since June 2026 we have been tracking 53 questions the way patients ask ChatGPT and Google’s AI – from “Who is the best cosmetic surgeon in Vienna?” to tuberous breast correction. Between 8 July and 30 September 2026, Dr Gehl was mentioned 297 times in the answers and cited as a source 269 times.
Visits are rising too: from July to September 2026, 2.7 times as many visitors came to the website via ChatGPT as in the same period of 2025.
