Our story

An agency that grew out of our own projects.

Northstar Media was not founded because someone wanted to open an agency. It was founded because Elias Stehrer spent ten years growing his own projects with SEO. That became a system he now runs for online shops, medical practices and SMEs.

2013

First SEO experience, on his parents' websites.

Elias looks after the online projects of his self-employed parents and completes Google’s official SEO course along the way. Real websites, real enquiries, real consequences.
The insight from back then still holds today: SEO is not a trick, it is a lever, if you do it properly.
2019

A tennis school that fills up through Google.

Alongside his business degree at WU Vienna, Elias builds TennisNow, including its booking system. He does the SEO himself, and customers come almost exclusively through organic search.
The business pays for his studies. And for the first time it becomes clear what SEO really is: a channel that brings revenue, not clicks.
2022

A startup, strong growth and the hardest lesson.

As co-founder of a zero-waste online supermarket, Elias is responsible for all online marketing, SEO included. Growth is strong, the team ambitious.
After 14 months it is over all the same: cash flow and funding no longer hold up. The most important lesson of all: growth alone is not enough, the business has to work economically.
2023

His own SEO becomes a service for others.

In his own software agency, too, Elias does the SEO himself, just as he did for the tennis school and the startup. Then the decision: he offers it to other businesses as well. Performance SEO only, and only cases where SEO makes economic sense.
The first clients come from the health sector: dermatologists, orthopaedic surgeons, plastic surgeons. One dermatologist grows from 55 to more than 10,000 clicks a month.
Today

Google and AI at once, measured in revenue.

Elias hands over the software agency and focuses entirely on SEO: Northstar Media is born, without investors. Today we combine SEO and GEO: visibility that ranks in Google and gets cited in AI search such as ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Mode.
We measure it by our clients‘ revenue, with our own software and dashboards that show which enquiries and appointments come from search. Our goal for the next few years is clear: strong growth, with clients for whom SEO and GEO pay off in revenue.

A number-one ranking alone pays no bills. We measure our work by appointments in your calendar and enquiries in your pipeline.

Honest in the first conversation

Not every business benefits from SEO. If it does not pay off for you, we say so before you pay a penny.

Our office in DC Tower 3, Vienna.

Donau City, 22nd district. Right on the U1 underground line, between the New Danube and the Old Danube. From here we work with clients across Austria, the DACH region and internationally.

We hold the first conversation online: we share our screen and show you your numbers directly. Ongoing collaboration also runs via video, reporting and a direct line, fast and without detours.
